Ghosts and Spirits?
The supernatural realm, a realm beyond the understanding of a mere human, has always captured the vast imagination and curiosity of humanity. It is a place where the laws of nature,as we know of, do not exist. Across cultures and throughout history, we have always heard, seen and felt some inhumane existence. Tales of ghosts, spirits, monsters, and otherworldly phenomena have attached themselves into the fabric of our collective consciousness. When we think of ghosts and demons we automatically think of movies such as The Conjuring and Chucky etc, however ghosts and demons are not just what the movies show. It’s not as black and white as it seems. Most people have had eerie experiences when it comes to the supernatural, cases of; possession, black magic, and hauntings have been a topic of discussion during various events and gatherings. Exploring this enigmatic domain invites us to confront the unknown, as well as, question our perceptions of reality. It makes us ponder the profound depths of the human psyche. Whether viewed through the lens of folklore, religion, or modern popular culture, the supernatural realm offers a tantalizing glimpse into the mysteries that lie beyond the boundaries of our mundane existence.
I’ve grown up watching horror movies, in fact horror is my favorite genre, whether it be books, movies, or podcasts, a good scare is always appreciated. But it’s not the same for everyone, some people have real experiences that don’t seem as fun exciting as merely just watching it on a screen and listening to it while running errands. Some people have experiences with things like these that make them get unforgettable trauma. There have been cases in certain places of the world where some see their loved ones become something unexpected. Something that they wouldn’t have even seen coming, something almost so monstrous that even being around their presence may give them the jeepers creepers.
There have been many such cases in real life, where people have reported to feel inhuman touch or vibe. One of the most compelling cases supporting the existence of paranormal and supernatural spirits is the Amityville Horror. I’m sure many people have watched the very famous movie about this case. In 1974, the Lutz family moved into a house in Amityville, New York, where Ronald DeFeo Jr. had brutally murdered six family members a year earlier. Shortly after moving in, the Lutzes began experiencing a series of disturbing supernatural phenomena. They reported strange smells, unexplained cold spots, and even levitating objects. These occurrences were so alarming that the family fled the house after just 28 days. Their experiences were documented in a book and a series of films, drawing widespread attention to the case. Despite ongoing debate about the veracity of their claims, the sheer volume of reported phenomena and the consistency of the accounts lend credibility to the idea that the Lutz family encountered genuine supernatural activity(encyclopedia of occultism and parapsychology. . encyclopedia.com. 16 may. 2024 .). Another case I searched up is a very well known case, the infamous Sarah Winchester’s labyrinthine mansion in San Jose, California, also known as the Winchester Mystery House. This is another fascinating case that suggests the presence of supernatural spirits. Following the deaths of her husband and child, Sarah was reportedly told by a medium that she was haunted by the spirits of those killed by Winchester rifles. It was said that to appease these spirits, she continued to expand her house from 1884 until her death in 1922. The house had a bizarre structure with staircases leading to nowhere and doors opening into walls. Many believe the house is haunted, with reports of ghostly sightings and unexplained phenomena. The ongoing construction and the house’s peculiar design, driven by Sarah’s fear of the spirits, indicate a profound belief in and response to supernatural forces. But there are many other cases as such that have not been spread all around the world. Have you ever felt an overwhelming negative energy in a place? I certainly hope no one has to ever feel this. But I heard a podcast about a case where a paranormal investigator went to a haunted area in India and felt such negative energy, to the point where he started thinking of suicide. He was at the Lambi Dehar Mines in Mussoorie, which is known for its eerie atmosphere and haunted reputation. Near the mines is an abandoned school from the British era with a dark history involving a principal who practiced occult rituals and sacrificed children. When villagers discovered his actions, they killed him, and the school was left haunted. After visiting this site alone one night for research. He felt increasingly uneasy and, by midnight, was overwhelmed by dark thoughts and hopelessness. Suddenly he felt a strong urge to leave, and once he said he was back in the car, his feelings normalized. He later learned from people from that area that the site has a history of suicides, reinforcing its negative energy. (This real story of black magic will shock you ft. kushal: RealHit)
Apart from spirits and the supernatural realm, what caught my attention was the use of black magic. Personally, I was curious about learning about this because I just couldn’t grasp why someone would take part in such a cruel ritual. After doing some research about this I found some very horrifying cases. I also found out that the cultural importance of slender lorises in Southern India involves traditional medicine, black magic, and superstitions, contributing to their population decline. Conservation efforts must consider these cultural factors to effectively protect the species from further decline. This shows that black magic victims are not just humans but animals as well. There is a ritual in South India where they burn lorises and use their ashes to continue this atrocity. Lorises’ cut up limbs can be found on a regular basis in this area. (peoplenatureblog et al. There was a specific podcast that I heard that talked about how the youtuber’s brother was a victim of black magic. He experienced this when a new classmate joined his group. Initially, she was very friendly and started participating in their YouTube video shoots, bringing expensive equipment and food. Over time, her behavior became strange, such as constantly touching Vishnu’s hair and offering costly gifts. One night, she called his brother, asking him to come to her house because she was scared. Despite her insistence and even her mother’s involvement, Vishnu and his friends found it unsafe to travel 30-35 km to her house late at night, especially since it was in a sparsely populated area. They eventually decided not to go. Later, she invited them to see a studio she had set up at her house. She instructed them not to eat beforehand, claiming she had prepared a feast. When Vishnu and his friends arrived, they found her house old and poorly maintained, which was surprising given her apparent wealth. The house’s condition was eerie and didn’t match her affluent persona, raising further suspicions about her true intentions. Later on after a few days of this, they started getting extremely sick, started having eerie experiences. Later they went to a priest and found out from the priest that this whole time the girl was putting things in their food and casting evil on them. Towards the end of my research, I was a little shocked to see the capabilities of some people. This research has also made me realize that the intentions of some individuals might not always be for your best, so it;s better to stay alert rather than regretting it later.
